Beautifully decorated restaurant in a quiet corner of a busy dining district. Chose their 3-course lunch menu. Delicious food (the spring chicken is super tender) and their service is excellent. Modern French dining.

The most surprising dish would be the cuttlefish noodles with shrimp paste and lobster. The texture was amazing and the flavours blend in beautifully. Highly recommend!

I recently went to this French fine dining restaurant with my friend. The interior decor has a very luxurious and elegant feel to it. It's actually the filming location for a popular TV drama series featuring a news anchor. Not only is the food excellent, but the service is also very attentive and thoughtful. It's definitely a great place to celebrate with a significant other or friends. I highly recommend it!

A Taste of Maison ES: Hong Kong Classics Meet French Flair I recently visited Maison ES to try their brand-new menu, launched just a week ago. This menu is all about reimagining Hong Kong classics with a French creative twist. The interior is exquisitely elegant—every detail feels refined, and the ambiance is supremely comfortable. The Bread to Begin The meal started with their home-baked scallion oil bread, served piping hot. What made it stand out were the two house-made butters: - XO Sauce & Satay Butter: Salty, savory, and beautifully complex. - Smoked Eel Butter: Luxurious and pâté-like in texture, offering a surprisingly rich and memorable taste. Starters Alaskan King Crab Steamed – Uni Cauliflower Cream & Shaoxing Chicken Oil Sauce Sweet, succulent king crab paired with umami-rich uni, velvety cauliflower cream, a drizzle of Shaoxing-infused chicken oil, and all lifted by the gentle aroma of Chinese wine. Every bite was full of flavor depth and balance. Heirloom Cherry-Tomatoes – Preserved Plum, Japanese Yam Purée, Ice Plant The heirloom tomatoes were marinated in preserved plum water, striking a perfect sweet-tart balance. The Japanese yam purée in the center was smooth and fresh, while crisp and slightly salty ice plant added the perfect finishing touch. Mains: Street Food Memories, Elevated Cuttlefish "Noodles" · Sautéed Lobster · Puffed Bean Curd · HK-Style Curry Sauce This playful dish pays homage to local “curry squid and fish balls.” Thinly sliced cuttlefish mimics rice noodles, tossed with sautéed lobster and crispy puffed tofu. The rich Hong Kong-style curry sauce was both bold and nostalgic, blending technical finesse with whimsical charm. Celeriac – Brown Butter Roasted Roulade, Quinoa, Black Truffle, Black Pepper Sauce, Onion Broth - The slow-roasted celeriac, infused with black truffle, delivered layers of earthy aroma. Paired with mushroom quinoa for texture, the real highlight was the black pepper sauce, bolstered by a house-made caramelized onion broth. It instantly evoked memories of classic Hong Kong steakhouse flavors. Sweet Finale: A New Take on Cantonese Dessert “Black & White” Sesame Salted Egg Tart with Japanese Tofu Ice Cream Think of it as a black sesame sweet soup and sweet tofu pudding. The base is a black sesame tart crust, filled with salted egg yolk and chewy glutinous rice balls, then topped with a glossy black sesame chocolate sauce. The side of Japanese tofu ice cream was incredibly smooth, pairing beautifully to round out the meal. Maison ES has truly poured creativity and detail into this new menu. Next time, I’ll definitely be trying their signature dishes—the “Tartare,” “Wagyu Wellington,” and innovative “Maggi Taro.” Maison ES Shop B, UG/F, Hang Tak Building, 1 Electric Street, Wan Chai @maison_es @cheftata @peony1006 #MaisonES #HongKongFood #WanchaiFoodprint #CantoneseFlavour #FrenchCuisine #FineDiningHK #VintageVibes #NewNostalgia #FrenchDining #HongKongTwist
